I mean that *definitely* isn't proof because that would imply the reboot movie would have been good with a better score and I really don't think it would have.

I sincerely think that if Dino de Laurentiis had gotten his way and given the film a rock/pop score it'd be remembered more in the vein of The Sword and the Sorcerer or The Beastmaster.

True, but the camp elements were well in place and a goofy score might have only enhanced them.

Oh, man, that movie! I have a soft spot for it despite the many flaws because of the awesome ending battle sequence. Always loved the effects in that scene.
