In my youth I always felt left behind because I simply couldn't get absolutely everything in a Thing I was into (IE. Couldn't get the Euro CD Single release for Garbage where they have a song exclusively released in Europe) so I grew up just being OK not getting everything.
I actually feel overwhelmed when I try to get into a fandom and there's a giant pile of content I can't catch up with and so I take forever watching one thing at a time.
