Assuming that by 'fuck off' you mean you don't actually want to romance him, what choices are you making that he won't take the hint? Because in every single one of my playthroughs, picking "you don't feel like being this close to Gale" during his magic-teaching scene shuts it down and he never, ever mentions it again.

So for the second time in two playthroughs, I told him I'm not interested, rejected him at every opportunity, but his romance scenes keep triggering and he was chosen as my Durge's LI in a key scene despite me intentionally trying to limit contact and rejecting him at every possibility. It's just bugged to hell and back for me.
