I've done 3 playthroughs and every time I've turned him down he's accepted it and not brought it up again, so unless you're doing something different he's fine with it? He's a little 'oh well, can't blame me for trying' but that's it.

It's the bugs that do it. His romance scenes kept triggering for me even though I outright rejected him at several key junctions. It seems to have died down by now because I simply tried to not initiate conversations with him anymore but damn it got annoying. Especially on the Durge run where I ironically had to in-game-kill him to avoid having to possibly plot-kill him.

Huh, that's clearly really glitchy but I've never had this happen once. If I reject a companion they stay that way after and I can talk to them no issue. I'm not saying you're lying as me and my gf got a very particular bug that we only found one other person seeming to get as well, but it's certainly odd.

I'm playing on PS5 since my PC is too old to run the game and I think some bugs occur ,ore often on console than on PC. Im having a lot of other gameplay issues as well (like not being able to drop anything from my player character's inventory) so yeah, the bugs are plentiful and different for everyone.

Oooh, yeah that will make a difference. I'm playing on PC and outside of one very annoying bug my games have been fine, and the bug I did get was only when playing with my gf for the first game, my solo games haven't had it happen.

Yeah, seems not even Larian fully understand how it keeps happening since they can't seem to succesfully patch it out. I've had Gale hallucinating a relationship as recently as patch 5. Haven't really played since 6 hit, so I have no personal experience there.
