Disney's relying a lot on it's reputation right now, and it's really not working. People will buy merchandise for their kids (or themselves!) as long as they can justify affording it but if the kid isn't interested, they're not going to buy it. If they feel ripped off, they won't pay.

What Disney seem to have forgotten is that people don't want "woke" or "traditional" or "genre subversive" movies, they want engaging stories, interesting characters, and sincere themes. Unfortunately the former provide a checklist and the latter doesn't.
