Oh, I think I can explain that part - OP thinks current fandom trends mean we're "supposed" to hate older Who of this era. I don't think it's true, but I understood that part ok.

There's no "supposed" when it comes to preferences. They exist. Anything else is peer pressure.

I mean at least from my experience of Who fandom that's just not remotely close to reality.

AYRT Same with mine, though there's so many parts of Who fandom that it's definitely plausible that one sub-group out there does think this.
