It reads just like Pride and Prejudice, but the Bennett girls are all trained zombie-killers, and the undead are added into scenes. I know this doesn't sound helpful at all, but the title of the book really is the best description of it.

I completely agree. It had such great crack potential, but once you get beyoned the basic gag, there's really nothing much to it.

It also drove me mad that he sometimes takes direct quotes from P&P and adds a clause pertaining to the zombie-apocalypse, completely mangling the grammatical structure of the sentence in the process. Were there no editors around to catch that stuff?

I couldn't get through it. It wasn't the zombies that bothered me, it was the changes to characterization. I was like, "Okay, sure Lizzy can be a skilled warrior and zombie slayer, but she wouldn't be rude to her sister!!!" Seriously, it drove me nuts, and I had to stop reading.

Okay, love this secret because all three are great. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is amazing in its gore and descriptions of the girls' fighting and the miniseries was surprisingly entertaining.

(oh, and the real book is just not as good without the zombies IMO)

The original is good. Better, actually, because you can get all "woooo drama" without stopping for "lol, zombies". :D

I had a hard time with the original, because I am all kinds of uninterested in that time period - wasn't until I saw the 6 hour BBC miniseries that I really enjoyed P&P.

I really enjoyed the zombie one, but I expected that since I enjoy zombies in basically anything anyway.
