Haha, WaterSHIP. You know, I can usually see slash in just about anything, but here it's hard for me to get past the fact that, well, they're rabbits. Sex, for them, is all about procreating, and it would probably not ever even occur to them that they could do it with another buck. It would be like when they realized that they could use a piece of wood to float on top of the water, it would blow their little minds. Maybe I could see the rabbits in the Warren of the Shining Wire do it, as they do a lot of strange things (for rabbits) anyway. Of course, I can't deny the epic bromance in this great story. 8)

I ship most of those pairings, but I don't really look at in the furry perspective. Like...it doesn't matter that they're technically rabbits, it's the personalities that I ship.

Well... they're actual animals, not anthropomorphic animals. So it's not really furry if you think about it.

ETA: When I was a child my mom would read a chapter of Watership Down to me every night before bed, and she would make up different voices for some of the characters. The last chapter really depressed me, though, and I remember crying myself to sleep afterward, even though my mom tried to console me by telling me that Hazel led a full life and it was his time to go since he was a really old rabbit by the end of the book.

I have that book and I haven't read it. I bought it out of amusement because I'd watched the movie and it has SCARRED ME FOR LIFE. Now I'm too terrified to read it.

I really don't think the furry thing is a big deal. I ship animal characters (or anthropomorphized ones) all the time, but it's not because they're animals, it's because of their human characteristics -- come on, if I ship two "mice" because of their bickering and camaraderie, I wouldn't do that if they weren't mostly human in their actions and the way they're expressed, because if they were really two mice they'd just be kind twitching their whiskers and sniffing around and. Being mice. :/

You ship people. They just happen to be animals, too. Furry or not, I don't think that's weird at all.

I had to read Watership Down before school starts in August. I shipped rabbit slash so hard I was a little freaked out.
