Ha, I knew a pair of identical twins who (as adults) had to get tested for a family genetic condition and it turned out they weren't actually identical after all, just very similar-looking siblings.

You're right, though, there's not many same-sex fraternal twins. Raistlin and Caramon from Dragonlance are the only pair I can think of off the top of my head.

I knew a pair of siblings who were a year apart who looked like identical twins.

AYRT Yeah, my dad and his brother are 11 months apart and look identical in photos, but apparently they weren't at the time because my dad was born premature and was absolutely tiny until he was 18 and suddenly grew to his adult height, the same as his brother!

in tv show Legacies Lizzie and Josie are female fraternal twins.

Same-sex fraternal twins aren't any more interesting than siblings who are very close in age, so why bother making them twins.

~☆magical twin bond☆~

(Anonymous) 2024-03-26 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Why bother making them fraternal?

(Anonymous) 2024-03-26 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Why not?

(Anonymous) 2024-03-27 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Because identical is more interesting.

(Anonymous) 2024-03-27 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Speaking a fraternal twin, I honestly agree. We're close and have 99% shared life experiences, which is unique and interesting, but other than that, we're just like any other sisters. (I think - she's actually my ONLY sibling so I have no frame of reference for other sibling dynamics.)

(Anonymous) 2024-03-27 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
Because there's still a difference between "close in age" and "the very same age".

Steffy and Phoebe from Bold and the Beautiful were same sex fraternal twins.

The only ones I could think of off the top of my head were Willie and Mark from The Hogan Family (formerly Valerie's Family, formerly Valerie).

But then there's the movie Twins (1988). In A Cinderella Story, the stepsisters are twins.

Apparently, Madison and Vida Rocca in Power Rangers Mystic Force, Jacob and The Man in Black in Lost, Rachel and Nora Reid in The Wilds, Kate and Beth Kane in Batwoman, Eddie and Harry Jackman in Jekyll, are all fraternal twins.
