Unpopular opinion: death should not be a punishment for any crime, no matter what the nature of the crime.

Not an opinion, but a fact: people who kill themselves after being encouraged to by others have mental health problems and aren't responsible for their own suicide. If you believe they are, you side with the Catholic Church of the past when its official stance was that you go straight to hell if you kill yourself, and even the Church has revised it opinion on this in line with studies.

I agree that death should not be a punishment for any crime.

I am not interested in blaming someone's death on his victims.

There's blaming it on the victims and then there's actually people bragging about driving others to the brink of suicide and beyond (as happens with a disturbing amount of antis in certain fandoms). And since OP didn't actually give any details, it wasn't exactly obvious which case they meant and it definitely sounded more like the latter than the former to me.
