Re: Unpopular opinion

So, just to be clear: if someone responds to a suicide by bragging about having driven the dead person to it, then you think that person deserves absolutely no condemnation, and anyone who calls them on it is looking at the situation in an "insanely fucked" way? The ugly instinct, in your view, is not represented by saying, "lmao I drove them to suicide and I'm glad I did;" it's represented by saying, "it's wrong to brag about driving someone to suicide?"

If you think it's fucked to assign responsibility to someone's suicide to other people, then surely you must think it's fucked to take responsibility for someone's suicide. But perhaps that's different to you?

It's different to them because they think it's fine for Good People to drive Bad People to suicide, and it's fucked to accuse Good People of doing a Bad Thing. Good People don't do Bad Things, only Bad People do.

I am much, much more concerned for Piskor's victims and much more angry at people blaming them for Piskor's death than I am outraged by people celebrating his death. I care a whole hell of a lot more about the one than the other.

We are talking about someone taking credit for driving someone to suicide. You confirm that you find nothing wrong with that, provided the person they claim they drove to suicide is someone you take issue with?

And beyond that, even if we grant that blaming people for driving someone to suicide is worse than celebrating a suicide; even if we grant that the former is worse than the latter; do you think that there is nothing wrong with the latter? Do you think someone who condemns the latter is "beyond fucked?" That is what you're being asked, anon, and you're dancing around it, trying to shift the focus onto something else.

I think framing the question in the way that OP did is absolutely wrong and wrong headed and I don't have time for playing little hypothetical games. I do not have time for any defense of Piskor. I do not have time for "well are we hypothetically allowed to blame his victims in THIS scenario???"

Again with the victim blaming. Which nobody actually did ITT.

I do not know what else you're referring to with this "drive him to suicide" stuff.

I don't think people should celebrate his death but he is fundamentally not the person here I have sympathy with and you're not going to convince me he should be. His victims are.

I'm not OP so I don't know what they meant. But going purely off of what was actually in the OP post, this was explicitly about someone bragging about being involved/one of the reasons for the suicide. Which is kinda deranged.
