Who do you wish was romanceable in what game?

(Anonymous) 2024-04-03 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Clunky subject line but you get it.

For me it would be Scout Harding in Dragon Age Inquisition. Or that Cassandra was bi so my lady inquisitor could swoop her off her feet.

Miranda and Tali in Mass Effect as fem!Shep. I loved both of them and was a bummed when I realised I couldn't romance them.

Sidon. Yeah, Zelda doesn't have romancing but still.

tbh with Assassin's Creed's last few installments, all of the romanceable options were ugly except one each game. Why couldn't all of them be hotties? What was with the ass rendering in Odyssey?? I romanced no one because I just couldn't with their nasty badly-rendered skin and beards.

Jaskier in Witcher 3, or any man, really.

There was no romance in the Tomb Raider reboot, but I wanted to romance Sam so baaaad.

I haven't finished all the various branches, but I wish there were a romance option between Connor and Markus in DBH. I have a feeling the only person you can romance is North, which ☚ī¸.

I had a great time romancing all the people in AC:Odyssey. I was so happy they didn't restrict genders (though forcing you to go het with the DLC just to get a kid was a shit move).

I refused to finish that DLC it made me so angry.

I did finish it, but only because I just knew they were gonna kill the spouse by the end and wanted (let's be real) Kassandra to be a free agent again. (I tried, I tried so hard to play as Alexios so I could do the romances from the other side, but the voice acting was just. SO BAD.)

Saame. I tried a couple of times (mainly because I wanted to witness evil Kassandra) but his VA was awful! And I think it stands out even more because the VA for Kassandra was amazing.

okay but Alexios and Alkibiades provide a most excellent off-screen sex scene. if the VA only earned his paycheck for those moans, it's worth it.

That whole DNA memory bullshit and forced het that goes along with it as always something I hated about the AC games. That and the "it was really aliens" bullshit.

Zaeed in the Mass Effect games. He was the only one I was even remotely interested in romancing as renegade fem!shep.
kamino_neko: Tedd from El Goonish Shive. Drawn by Dan Shive, coloured by Kamino Neko. (Default)

As I mentioned in that thread - Femshep romancing Jack in Mass Effect 2.

Serana in Skyrim: Dawnguard. (I have the mod to allow it, just wish it was vanilla.)

Nick in Fallout 4. (Also have a mod for it, and am absolutely OFFENDED it's not vanilla.) Also, Codsworth, Ava, and pre-Synthing CURIE. (What?)

[Edit - oh, and I wish they'd kept the ability to romance your companions in Fallout: New Vegas. Courier/Veronica forever.]

Sticking with Owlcat games:

Amiri and Harrim and Maegar Varn and Linzy in Kingmaker. Linzi should be the canon romance for the story. And also I'd let Maegar hit like the broad side of a barn.

Seelah and Woljif and The Hand of The Inheritor in Wrath of the Righteous. And actually, even though this is totally unrealistic, I wish there was a background where the PC was a little kid and thus the plot shifts as every adult tries to shield and protect this child who is also the only source of power that can stop the demons. And then the PC could hold hands with Ember.

Abelard is one sexy Grandpa in Rogue Trader. And Caligos Winterscale is a kind of crazy hot I can get in front of. And why are the monster fuckers supposed to be content with space elves when Pasqual is RIGHT THERE with his tentacles???? I don't know that I'd want to romance Idira what with the complications of taking over for her mother figure BUT I do wish I could get her laid. She deserves it. Actually, fuck, in full BG3 mode I wish I could play through the game with her as the Rogue Trader. The Whispers would be WILD.

BG3 - I want a Durge x Gortash sex scene. I am not ashamed.

Yesss for Durgetash! I wasn't sold on it when I first heard about it because i wasn't too fond of Gortash's character design (he gives "feral raccoon that just fell out of the trash can of a bad wig store") but playing Durge and finding all the little lore bits and pieces about their shenanigans plus the scene where you meet him makes me wish we could save him in the end or at least have a one-off romance scene.

"feral raccoon that just fell out of the trash can of a bad wig store"
My next search in NoveList <3

But no really, I do ship them very hard. I love the idea of pulling someone out of evil when they don't have the convenient brain worm/amnesia. Or getting pulled back into (or into deeper) evil because of luuuurve. Also Jason Isaac's voice omg.

I also really loved the whole implied backstory with the "confession" to daddy that Durge wrote back at Moonrise and all. Just /chef's kiss

The Durge storyline is just SO GOOD!

Cullen and Solas for male characters in Dragon Age Inquisition. Not that I like Solas much but I think it's pretty shitty that the emotional rollercoaster of romancing this two-faced egg was genderlocked. That playing a male character locked you out of one of the main character developing storylines was a shit choice by the devs.

And because I'm currently playing it: any male NPC in Dragon's Dogma 2. Don't get me wrong, I think romance is completely unnecessary in this game but IF you're adding it, why the fuck would you only add two potential LIs that are both female?
It's really hilarious that the romance/affinty system isn't quite as weird as in the first game but it's still just as bad, just in a different way.
