Re: The Lion King - how do people think about the different animals?
Though, historically I can why those animals were chosen. Lions are "kings" of the jungle and have been associated with royalty for forever. Hyenas (unfairly) have many negative stereotypes like being scavengers. Or superstitions like being familiars for witch doctors. Plus they do make some creepy ass noises.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-12 12:30 am (UTC)(link)The person I was talking to was very adamant that the hyenas are bad because they overhunt and kill for sport rather than to eat. That is disrupts the circle of life. And the lions are good because they only eat enough to keep the ecosystem balanced and keep other predators from coming into the Pride Lands.
And I just didn’t remember that being clearly established in the movie. But it has been a very long time.
