My half brother molested my two nieces when they were kids. He went to prison but was released this year. And my other half brother (and his family) are letting him live with them. They literally say my nieces are liars and he never did anything. Obviously, we don't talk to them anymore.

My mother told me a few years ago. It explains why my siblings and I were never allowed alone with him. But I hate his guts and she's forgiven him, and I don't get it at all.
