Idk, if this is an unpopular opinion it's one I share. X-Men Evo was a great TV show and in certian regards did things much better than the comics: doing away with the Logan/Jean/Scott love triangle was one of the best things it did imo. And while there was still a slight one there with Rogue instead it was more her crushing on him than any reciprocation on his part and used a character stuff for her mainly.

I loved it at any rate and it remains as one of my fave X-Men media out there.

Not only did it get rid of the stupid love triangle but I loved that it made Wolverine one of the adults. Papa Bear Wolverine protecting his kids is so good (also this show made me ship Logan/Ororo).

Yes! Making him one of the adults that the kids looked up to was such a good choice, and I am there with you on the Logan/Ororo shipping, I loved their dynamic on the show. All in all it really worked so well as an AU of the comics.

That they didn't dwell on his Tragic Backstory beyond acknowledging it as part of who Logan is, that was a very good move. Logan doesn't need to be the center of attention, he works really well as part of an ensemble cast. His role in the show was Grumpy But Loving Dad, and it worked beautifully.

GOD YES. That stupid love triangle completely dragged down the live action movies like an anchor.

Pretty much every version of X-Men that I've come across does those three characters dirty one way or another, except for Evolution, now that I think about it. Which is a shame, because growing up with Evolution made me love the characters.

I’m a long time X-Men fan and I think Evo was great! Tons of people got into the fandom that way and it was a genuinely good AU.

I adored the design of the show.

A lot of great X Men fic I’ve read is based on this version! I’ve never actually seen it, though. I’d really like to though because the consistent characterization in the fic I’ve read tells me this was a great show.

If you ever get the chance to I would highly recommended it, it’s really very good. I watched it all on YouTube many years ago but I don’t know if that’s viable anymore as I could fully believe the episodes got pulled due to copyright.

I don’t have any other suggestions unfortunately as I’m not a torrent savy person.

It’s on Disney+ in the US

I am all about sailing the high seas, but do also pay for some streaming services, too, and at the moment all of evo is on Disney+, if anyone was thinking of doing a watch/rewatch and has access to a D+ account!

Aw, this series was my first ever online fandom - back when I had discovered fan forums and was directed to places like Deviantart, FFnet and Livejournal.

My first ever 'ship' was Kitty/Kurt. Then the first ever fic I had read was a dark fic with Lance/Kurt in an abusive relationship, and then eventually got really into Todd/Kurt. Nightcrawler was my favorite character, so I think I had tried to read every fic with him in it back then lol.

Comparing Evolution!Kurt to the Live Action movie!Kurt is like night and day. I still can't believe they wasted Alan Cumming like that.

I think I was so hyperfixed on Nightcrawler as a kid that I ended up liking the movie version too (also blame the angsty fics that had added more to his personality and made him even more likeable lol). With that being said, now that I'm an adult and having rewatched the first 2 movies, I do agree that I wish the Movies had done something other than 'religion is my personality' to Nightcrawler :/

Thbis show is what got me into X-Men as a kid, especially Nightcrawler. Good times!
