(Anonymous) 2024-04-14 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)I think many shows hold up if you go in with the knowledge of the era they were written in.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-14 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)60s- The Man From UNCLE- LOVE this one. Some seasons went harder on the adventure side, some lean into camp, but I find both ends of the spectrum enjoyable.
Batman- speaking of camp.
The Green Hornet- Bruce Lee, 'nuff said.
Hogan's Heroes- Every so often this is one of those shows I feel the need to rewatch. Again, it can lean hard on the humor, but some eps really make the adventure side tense and meaningful.
The Addams Family- Okay, this one's not remotely an adventure show, but I couldn't name my old TV faves and leave it out.
The Twilight Zone- Not usually adventure heavy but it DOES hold up!
Star Trek- Yeah it's sci-fi but it is ALSO adventure.
70s- MASH will ALWAYS hold up.
Starsky and Hutch- it's not perfect, but some eps hold up incredibly well/were ahead of their time.
Wonder Woman- Who doesn't love Wonder Woman??
The Rockford Files- it's been a while so I could be wrong about this one holding up, but I recall liking it back when I'd catch those old syndicated reruns.
80s- Quantum Leap- Another one that had some eps that were really ahead of their time
St. Elsewhere- Not an action series for the most part but another show that had some eps that were ahead of their time (even if some of it is very much a product of the 80s).
The A-Team- often on the campy side, yeah, but fun action!
Knight Rider- Didn't watch a lot of this one but I love William Daniels and he voices a car, so.
Perfect Strangers- I used to be obsessed with this silly little show so I'm including it even though it's not remotely action.
Golden Girls- I mean it's a very different kind of action but I can't talk about 80s TV without bringing up my girls.
90s- Twin Peaks my beloved
The X-Files, at least the early seasons
The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr- Campy cowboy action featuring THEE Bruce Campbell.
Highlander- It's been a while but I was very into this one.
Sliders- Sci-fi fun
Xena- obviously
M.A.N.T.I.S- I barely remember this one because I watched it when it was on the air and I was a kid but it did leave an impression!
PSI Factor- Another one that left an impression on me as a kid
The Scarlet Pimpernel- They managed to stretch it out to two seasons. I wouldn't call it my favorite adaptation of one of my favorite books but I do think it was fun.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-15 01:21 am (UTC)(link)The ones I rewatched recently that held up are:
Quantum Leap
The Persuaders
Keeping Up Appearances
Murder She wrote
Columbo
Thin Blue Line
Sledge Hammer! (campy)
When Things Were Rotten (very campy)
Even a classic like MASH can't tempt me now. Tried to rewatch - no go.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-15 04:09 am (UTC)(link)Charlie's Angels can be very silly, but I think it's still entertaining.
I still rewatch Scarecrow & Mrs. King and still love it. Not really lighthearted, but Tour of Duty is still a good show.
Due South is still awesomely quirky. Star Trek: Voyager is still enjoyable (DS9 is still good, but Voyager is the one I would probably consider the most lighthearted of the 90s Star Trek). SeaQuest DSV is a bit uneven, but still fun to watch. Quantum Leap is still pretty good. Stargate SG-1 has its moments.
There are a bunch that I remember fondly, but haven't watched in a while (sometimes literal decades), so I can't speak to how well they hold up: The Incredible Hulk, The A-Team, CHiPs, Remington Steele, The Greatest American Hero, The Young Riders, La Femme Nikita, The Pretender, Sliders, Star Trek: TNG, The X-Files
