In Marvel comics continuity, but obviously not movie, the cure for cancer explicitly exists and is held by Wakanda. However Wakanda, which in the comics is pretty racist and much less African Utopian, refuses to share it with the rest of the world for explicitly racist reasons. Comics and Movie continuities are very different in tone.
