I find there's two kinds: one type who, when pushed far enough, will admit that yes they don't want to make a new, better archive that caters to their desires for censorship because what they actually want isn't a "safe space, free of (thing I don't like)" but to purge all spaces of whatever it is they don't like.

The other, even sadder, can see the writing on the wall and is aware that in the new, censorship-enabled space, the leopard will turn and immediately eat their face by banning the "problematic" things they happen to like, and therefore want AO3 to defend their freedom of speech, but not that of others, e.g., "it's good and moral for AO3 to ban things I find racially problematic or sexist but I like some age gap ships and I like that AO3 allows me to post those and I want its policies and userbase to defend me as I do, but not defend others".

Otherwise, yeah, obviously, you'd just make your own site or go to another one.

I am a Good Person, which means things I like are Good, and things I don't like are Bad. I would never do a Bad thing, because I am Good.
