Honestly, as not an American (Canadian) writing fic with characters who are from the UK, I try my best lol.

It's funny how the more I research into slang/vernacular, the more I notice the discrepancies and it does make me pause more in other fic of the same fandom.

Yeah, there's plenty of us from neither country writing for fandoms set there! And it gets more complicated again when writing for, say, Chinese or Japanese fantasy fandoms!
