I don't think one questionable action negates everything you stand for, but it does, well, raise questions. At the minimum it's a yellow flag and I'd be a little more cautious around that person until they showed their true colors.

And I haven't heard people being attacked simply for being related to someone horrible; in fact, IME it's been the opposite, especially when it's a kid. The only time I've seen relatives being piled on is when they seem to be following in the same footsteps as the awful person, or seem to be greatly enabling the awful person's behavior (again, kids not included here). But that has nothing to do with being related, it has everything to do with supporting an awful person.

DA I kinda lean this way, too. But the context would matter. In this case, I don’t know any of the people or the tweet, so I don’t have an opinion about it. And if it’s just one like of one tweet that is the polar opposite of everything else known about that person, I tend to assume it was the result of sticky scrolling. It happens *shrug* I once laugh reacted a death announcement on Facebook because the app froze for half a second.
