Honestly, I wish we had a Captain Planet right now. If the villains are real, the heroes ought to be as well!

"The power is yours"

He said it every episode, we don't need fantastical heroes. We can be our own heroes, we just have to act. Most of us don't, though.

Yeah, I'd prefer a fantastical hero, because right now I'm having a hard time believing humans are gonna come through on this one. It's possible they might, I'm just saying the outlook's not great at the moment.

You'd prefer a fantastical hero because you are lazy and comfortable, and being your own hero is hard work and requires forgoing some comfort or safety. Be honest about your objection. You don't want to do the work to get the better world.

No, I am decidedly extremely uncomfortable, and I've been fighting my own uphill battles while doing what I can in society without destroying myself as I am only one person.

But don't hurt yourself jumping to conclusions.

Oh fuck you man.

Put up or shut up.

No, I'd prefer a fantastical hero because I can't go and beat up all the industrial bosses in the world to make them produce less pollution. I know it's popular to put the responsibility on the individual as in "if you just life environmentally conscious enough thing will get better" but individuals can not change a thing in the grand scheme of things as long as politics/ the big industries world-wide won't change anything. The myth of individual responsibility is a smokescreen.

nayrt but yup. Don't get me wrong, it's great if everyone "does their part." But even though I clean/sort/drop off my recyclables consistently, it's not going to stop giant corporations from continuing to make shitty packaging that's not biodegradable. Especially when they don't do much to reduce/reuse/recycle themselves and just figured they could put the responsibility all on us. Fuck 'em, they deserve a Captain Planet-powered fist up all their asses. And may he be wearing the sharpest of spiked knuckles.

Talking about yourself anon?

The most realistic villains are the ones everyone complains are one-dimensional. The Super Evil Bad Guy who is Evil for Evil's Sake is an accurate representation of real-life villains.

Nah. Musk wildly overestimates himself and thinks he’s the hero despite all evidence to the contrary, and I don’t think he’s unusual in that regard.

I never understood...

I never understood how a guy with a ring that grants him magical fire powers ever faced the same villain more than once. Hell, any one of those rings could've been used to solve the problem in a couple of minutes without summoning Cap and without the worry of a repeat offender.

Air? Ram so much down their throats their lungs explode. Or, go the opposite way and create a vacuum to crush their chest.

Water? Drown them, or blood-bend them.

Earth? Bad guys can't do bad things when you drop them down a 50m sink hole, then fill it back in.

Heart? Suicidal depression. Just keep piling it on until they take themselves out. Or, if you've got a bunch of them in close proximity to each other, blind, animalistic, murderous rage.
