I like that killing in this game never feels fun per se. It’s grimly satisfying to clear an objective, but even the honorable kills are brutal, horrible deaths, to say nothing of how agonizing the poison is. You’re constantly grounded in the feeling that this should not be happening, that people shouldn’t have to die for one warlord’s ego. But within the narrative and under your suspension of belief, it is happening, and Jin only has so many options for how to effectively fight back.

Yeah, it makes you feel kind of terrible from almost square one. There's a righteousness in what you're doing (and tbh I always relished killing Straw Hats, those turncoat motherfuckers), but the game still succeeds in making it feel like it's too much. The villagers starting to fear Jin was a nice touch.

On another note, Ghost Stance is absolutely terrifying. I hardly used it.

Man, this game was BRUTAL on my emotions. Such an unhappy game. I loved it.
