Objectively, Johnny Depp ran a massive legal, publicity and PR campaign to convince people that he wasn't an abuser. That's the reason that people are defending Amber Heard: they are defending her against a massive campaign to smear her reputation that was carried out because she made (in my view, well-founded) accusations against Depp of being an abuser.

Heard is also a bad person, and probably an abuser. But the person who was able to successfully convince the public at large of their case was Johnny Depp, not Amber Heard. The one who was able to successfully convince people he did nothing wrong was Depp, not Heard. That campaign is the much bigger problem to me than anything else.

I wouldn't watch a movie with either of them in it. But I don't like that Depp ran a massive smear campaign against someone for accusing him of abuse and that people continue to buy into that campaign.

People bought in to both sides. It is incredibly rare ime to see someone admit that they are both pos abusers. Most people come down on one side and hedge with things like "not a great person" instead of just syaing they are both trash.

Far more people bought into Depp's story, probably because he spent more money promoting it.

DA

Yeaaah there's a big difference between "an abuser" and "not a great person." You can believe Depp was a bigger abuser than Heard or vice versa, but they're both abusers.

Someone who's "not a great person" can be someone who like, litters and lets their dog shit in other people's yards. Someone who literally directly physically abuses other people is not the same thing.

What publicity campaign did he run? I honestly missed that. I didn’t pay close attention though because I knew about her fake bruises very soon after her accusations.
