I want to be on Heard's side because I've been a fan since Everybody Loves Mandy Lane, but that recording of her telling Depp no one would believe him about her abusing him makes me sick! It also makes me dislike anti-Depp people because they never talk about the recording. At least they could argue that it's fake or taken out of context, but nope. There's hard proof of Heard showing classic abuser behavior, and it's dead silence over there in anti-Deppland!

Not only that, but of the two of them, Heard is the one with a history of arrest for domestic violence against a former intimate partner, not Depp, which is another thing I never hear discussed from that crowd either.

DA
I also really hate the whole "yeah but her partner rescinded her accusation so Heard is innocent" as if people in abusive relationships didn't do this all the time, for a wide variety of reasons, mainly to protect themselves.

Even if the accusation was rescinded, the incident at the airport had multiple witnesses, and their version is a lot more credible than Heard/her partner's, as the two of them have every reason to downplay the incident, as you said. (Frankly, there's absolutely no way that would have resulted in an arrest if it had actually happened as Heard described it, research shows that bystanders rarely intervene if a woman is being violent in public, as it is seen as non-threatening, let alone merely "grabbing the arm" of someone else. That the arresting officer's version - that Heard was choking her girlfriend - was corroborated by witnesses is more than enough to suggest that Heard is lying about it.)

Abusers are consistently abusive; all of Depp's long-term exes saying he wasn't versus Heard having documented abuse in at least one of hers makes me question the sanity of people unable to acknowledge that at the least, perhaps Depp did abuse her, but Heard was certainly abusing him also. And that reality profoundly recontextualizes her public statements about him and he has every right to make that known. If women are allowed to defend themselves from abuse, so are men?

And the bloody finger. And lying wotnesses on Amber's side. Her photoshoped bruise. Etc, etc.
There's also a video that was out years before the trial. Amber's baiting Depp in the kitchen and recording. Sadly for her Depp didn't atack back.
