Almost all of my ships are/have been M/M. I have exactly on F/F ship and one M/F ship. (I don't know if it's better, but I don't think M/F shippers are homophobic, I just think the ships are boring. Like, you like this? Ok...)

I have mostly f/f and m/f ships, I personally think the majority of m/m ships are pretty boring. It's all about taste, tbh.

I'm like you, and it's definitely because I find women more interesting than men. I need at least one woman to be involved for a pairing to capture my attention.

NA - Honestly, in most respects I prefer female characters to male ones, but when it comes to shipping, I'm the opposite of you, I need at least one man involved.

DA - exactly same. I just don't have any interest in men. I can sometimes tolerate one if he bounces off a woman well, but if you remove him from her he goes back to being as compelling as a piece of bark.

Shipping isn't morality OP so it's fine. I'm a lesbian but there are still m/f ships out there I like just because I think they're cute. For me gender permutation doesn't affect whether I ship something or not, the dynamic and chemistry are more important and if I'm not feeling it I'm not going to ship it, m/m f/f or m/f.

For the most part I'm not going to assume that someone shipping mostly or solely m/f is a homophobe, because it's silly to try and judge someone's moral character off of fictional ships they like. How someone acts and talks will make me side-eye more than something as banal as a shipping pattern.

I think we forget sometimes that heterosexuality is a sexual orientation, and is no more of a choice than homosexuality.

Comment OP- that's true but I'm asexual. I have a lot more ships I think are cute together than the three I've ever wanted to read smut fic for. Idk why those fictional couples specifically made me go "okay I won't just skip all the smut about you."

Except that sexual orientation has absolutely nothing to do with shipping? I know a whole lot of lesbians who love M/M and M/F ships and gay men who love F/F and M/F ships.

It has nothing to do with shipping for some people. For others it absolutely does shape their shipping interests. Both are valid.

Thanks for making a secret out of my comment, OP!

Most of my ships are F/F, some M/M and almost no M/F, but that's mostly because I tend to like canon relationships and a lot of canon M/F pairings are really shitty to the female character (in canon, not in fic). I started out as not much of a canon shipper but it turned out that I like same-sex canon ships just fine, it was the way shows usually treat M/F relationships that was the issue. Both my current M/F ships are of the ambiguously canon sort, which seems to work ok for me.

For my first 15 years in fandom, I shipped exclusively M/M. 10 years later, I now have an F/F pairing and the majority are M/F.

Not sure how that happened, and it's very confusing as a gay man who isn't attracted to women at all.

Most of my ships have been het but one of my first ships was m/m so I don't think I ever got much hate for shipping het. I hate arguments over what ships are canon or not as if there is any indicator on which ships are better based on what's canon or not.

Enjoy whatever ships you want Secret OP, people just like to start arguments.
