Knuckles (and Amy Rose) are my favorite Sonic characters, so I was super excited for a Knuckles spin-off, too. And then it ended up being a waste of time. I guess they couldn't add anything in case a lot of people end up not seeing it in time for the Sonic 3 movie, but man, I was sad it ended up being mostly about his dumb cop sidekick (I do not think anyone asked for a backstory for that character.)

It did have two things going for it, none of which is plot relevant: The infamous cowboy hat which Knuckles should wear more in ANY Sonic media, and the musical. Oh my God, I have a heavy, HEAVY guilty pleasure for the musical scene precisely because it's the kind of cornball I love (even if, again, Knuckles himself wasn't in it despite the whole literal song-and-dance being ABOUT him.)

I think it was about two episodes of him wearing the hat. But you actually have to watch the entire show because he only wears it around the last couple of episodes. So, uh, good luck. XD

It was so disappointing for me bc like I said, he's been my fave since his debut and I've been dreaming about him getting his own series since. Being sidelined for a minor character (a cop at that who's mother practices Krav Maga which they emphasis as Israli self defence and can't pronounce an easy to pronounce native name) is even worse than being ignored on his 30th anniversary year for Shadow.

I would have much preferred a series where it shows him trying to get along with Maddie and the fact that he's now missionless and doesn't know what to do with himself (I swear Pachacamac was trolling).

And if I wanted the hat that badly I'd just go watch the OVA (it's literally free on YouTube).

Super disappointing to me that it's so much about the cop sidekick. Knuckles isn't even my *favorite* (Tails, you'll never be second best to me), but I still love him and the trailers had me pretty hyped up-- seeing Knuckles eating grapes, hearing just a moment of Chris Lloyd's voice...
