I hardly ever cry at movies, TV, or books, but I've cried over tons of fics.

One of those ones that made me cry the most was a Johnlock fic called Make Whole What Has Been Smashed by gigantic, in which Sherlock experiences time backwards (i.e. his tomorrow is everyone else's yesterday).

There was also an absolutely phenomenal gen Supernatural fic called They Put Me In A Cage Full Of Lions by amerella/onceuponatown. It was set when Sam and Dean were kids and was from child Dean's perspective. It was a really, really sublime rumination on formative trauma and the things that shape us. It's one of my favorite fics to this day, and I've never even been in the SPN fandom.
