I can agree on liking dark media. I only give middle aged protagonists a chance if I think they're still good-looking, though. Bowie was fine into his sixties and unto death: most entertainers are not so lucky. And the comparatively lower beauty standards the media imposes on men, combined with their higher likelihood of being protagonists or major characters in the first place, does not amuse me.
