if you're talking about the bun she wore on the top of her head I agree, that looked terrible.

I just considered it a necessary weasel: if actors are doing work on other shows or movies, they may not want to be restricted by a period haircut (though at least a short period haircut could be covered by a wig). And for a long-running series like MASH trying to keep military cuts for literally a decade would be annoying.

Do you think these days if a live-action TV series ran for years and years (which seems increasingly unlikely for anything that isn't a news/talk show), they'd use CGI to give digital haircuts? (You can only conceal so much hair under bald caps/short-cut wigs)
