(Anonymous) 2024-05-29 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)On Tumblr, I don't follow anyone who makes gender/being trans their whole personality, and if they keep making gender posts in the fandom tag, I block them. If I see a term that annoys me in fandom (to use an example, "babygirl" as a term for male characters is something that irritates me), I create a content filter for it, and consider blocking or unfollowing anyone who frequently uses the terms in the filters.
If I don't vibe with the people in a Discord server, I just leave even if it's the biggest/main/only server for this fandom. You can create your own Discord server if you like, by inviting only people who you enjoy being around. I have a lot of people who are trans in my fandoms, but they are very chill about it and have a lot of other interests and aspects of their lives that they are happy to talk about aside from being trans. I appreciate them a lot.
On AO3, you can mute creators who post untagged trans headcanon porn or whose body of work consists entirely of trans headcanon stories.
Basically, find a part of the fandom that legitimately sparks joy in you. Even if it's much smaller than the main bulk of fandom, it's a less lonely experience (in my experience) to find one or two people who you really enjoy being around than to be constantly swimming in a larger and more dynamic pool of people who just make you feel weird and out of the loop.

I mean, this is the way to deal with anything/any group of people or works you don't like in any fandom. Just avoid it, and make your own space with the like-minded. You'll have a lot more fun in the long run.

(Anonymous) 2024-05-29 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)This comment is so abstract I can't tell if it's attacking the person it replied to or agreeing with them. But I think whatever disagreement you have with other people, that's poor cause to wish they'd die.
Ignoring those who post stuff you don't want to read and filling your fandom life with people you appreciate makes for a much better experience.
