You know, I read this column in the Times where this guy at a feminist event needed to pee. There were no men's rooms, only gender neutral ones. He went to one of these restrooms, and decided to use the urinal, because there was a long line to the stalls. Well, he could sense that this made other people in the bathroom uneasy. In so many words, he asked if he'd fucked up -- and the columnist said that yes, he had fucked up. In his selfishness, he had exposed himself to all of the women present (and possibly some little girls, too).

I thought to myself, "huh. If he'd just said that he identified as a woman, he'd have been in the clear." Wouldn't matter whether he actually felt himself to be a woman; all he'd have to do is to tell people that he was one, and suddenly, he'd no longer have been exposing himself. He'd just be...using the restroom.

See, case in point - you've probably never been kicked in the head by a horse but you still manage to come up with this shit.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Ha! This was good, thanks for the laugh. XD

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Are you denying that people treat penis differently if the person who owns it declares that they're a woman?

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Nobody does this. A penis is a penis is a penis.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
People treat men and women differently.

(what you seem to be missing here, genuinely, is the concept of good and bad faith)

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Why are you obsessed with other people's genitals?

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
*is a woman
cakemage: (It's serious business.)

Hell, I have been kicked in the head by a horse and even I think both the anon above you and Rowling herself are full of shit.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
xD

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
may you receive a cure for it one day.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
No, the columnist was wrong, he didn't fuck up. It was a gender neutral bathroom, that means when you go in you have to know you might see some dicks out peeing. He was fully in his right to use the urinal.

But this is all bullshit you made up so it doesn't really matter either way.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
F!S is filled with the cowardly and the intellectually dishonest. They will never, ever genuinely engage with this issue; they will always and only resort to lame internet "dunks."

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
What's to engage with?

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Was that a self-own?

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
It's genuinely funny that you're talking about "the cowardly and the intellectually dishonest"; meanwhile the level of argumentation you're operating on is 'no u'.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
For the record, I wasn't the anon you originally replied to.

But since you didn't answer the question, I'll take it as a "yes."

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
That's some highly selective reading you've been doing if you've never seen the essays people write in the comments every time there's a JKR secret to debunk transphobic myths.

But of course you haven't seen them, because you ignore what you've already made up your mind to disagree with.

DA

You never know. I was kind of impressed with the level of discussion a few days ago when someone posted a secret about being tired of fandoms that are overflowing with "genderfolk." On Secret Post #6353.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 11:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, lots of rigorous discussion about the different reasons and ways in which trans and nonbinary people are delusional and harming gender-nonconforming cis kids.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Not at all.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, Jan.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's a great example of the batshittery Rowling would come up with to justify her transphobia. Good job.

(Anonymous) 2024-06-01 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Well, he could sense that this made other people in the bathroom uneasy.

Ah yes, the extremely well-documented ability of average humans to read the minds of other folk around them.

It's not selfish to use the facilities available to one's self. Nor is it actually a problem for anyone of any age to see a naked body part! The problem is people spinning these elaborate won't-someone-think-of-the-children tales to justify their bigotry, instead of them doing any self-examination with THEIR discomfort.
