TBH, I don't remember this line from the movies at all. Guess it's been too long since I watched them.

definitely not the books, although it does seem like a neat quote.

It actually comes from the extended version of Return of the King. He says this line to Éowyn after she wakes up from a dream about the fall of Númenor. (Well, he also tells her to go back to sleep and she does, but I just think the quote by itself is very effective.)
