But the show did turn Elaine into the Love Interest in the end. The finale involves her and Jerry nearly confessing their love for one another, getting interrupted, and then playing it off later on. While they might not have ended up together (and they couldn't have, given that they went to prison), the implication is still that they were each other's "person" all along.
