What is "Anti-canon"? Are you saying "non-canon"?

Just because a ship isn't in the canon, and isn't likely to be in canon, and maybe even precluded from ever being in a canon, doesn't make it "anti" the canon any more than canon ships are "pro-canon."

All ships can coexist peacefully in our imagination. There is no conflict. So ship who you like, and if it's canon likely, that's no more fail than if it isn't.

Well, I imagine "anti-canon" ships are things that would have to go against canon to work. Like "this person is my destined partner, and if I ever show interest in another or sleep with another person, I die".

I... what? *Anti*-canon? That makes it sound like you're picking your ships specifically because they are opposed to canon, rather than just picking whatever ship tweaks you in that way, canon or non.

I join the others with the "Huh whut?" reaction. You seem to maybe be saying that if a pairing isn't canon it should be some kind of cracked-out, impossible pairing. That's just silly. Most people prefer pairings that they can imagine would be canon--in fact, just about everyone does (just some people have more ability to stretch canon in their imagination, I think). People didn't like Harry/Hermione because they thought it was impossible--quite the contrary.

commenters: I suspect this is just a little bit badly phrased and just means exactly what the last line says - the OP has discovered they only like non-canon pairings that stand an outside chance of becoming canon

OP: I certainly wouldn't abandon Arthur/Morgana as not standing a chance of becoming canon! They had a lot more interaction and chemistry than Arthur/Guinevere (although obviously not nearly as much as Arthur/Merlin) - sure, Arthur/Guinevere is the offical mythology canon, but pretty much every single thing that happens in the series directly contradicts the mythology canon (especially re Launcelot, Excalibur, Mordred, Nimue, Arthur's personality, Merlin's age, Guinevere's social standing, and y'know, the entire set up of the series.) I love it, but it's like Arthurian legend crack AU fic. Anything can happen!
