Book 1: ok, so it's a cheesy YA easy-read, not really getting the intense hate though, maybe people are expecting too much from a young adult book
Book 2: wow main character is acting in a way that really makes me hate her, but there should be some epic angst/confrontation at the end so I will persevere. The end: WTF, lame.
Book 3: yikes the quality has really dropped, the characters are acting OOC and it's canon FFS. Plus very hard to follow plot-wise, like there is no clear overall plot arc, or climactic conclusion that I noticed. There is zero romantic chemistry, it feels like she has two brothers/cousins fighting over her.
Book 4: I cannot understand how the 4th book was even released, I felt honestly embarrassed for the author! There are plenty of reviews out there that say it better than I can.
The fourth book discredits the author and any merit the previous books may have had on any level.

If it wasn't mostly Jacob going in and out of the house while Bella got her life sucked away by a baby, it could have been better.
