They all sound interesting but I'm most drawn to Universal Harvester because I like the idea of a disturbing found footage story set in the Midwest!

I do really like the cover of that one. So pretty!

I just finished (and loved) TJ Klune's The House in the Cerulean Sea. So my vote goes to anything else he might have written

This is the sequel to that! Though, I am worried because I read the first one years ago.

Travel bag

Anyone have an opinion/experience with either of these bags?

Patagonia Black Hole mini MLC 30L

Osprey Fairview/Farpoint 40L

Going to try and minimize my packing for future trips and I think I have narrowed it down to these two but I just can't decide.

I had a Fairview and hated it. I ordered online and was really disappointed in how massive it was. I’ve seen some 40L packs that weren’t as bulky so I was expecting a smaller pack than I got. It was too big for carryon but as a checked backpack it’s really small and awkward. I think maybe it also didn’t have any pockets? I can’t remember for sure. I returned it to REI and am so glad I bought it from them because if I’d purchased direct from Osprey like I did for my Ariel, I’d still be stuck with it (like my Ariel).

Oh no! Everything I am reading says its the perfect carryon size. I am definitely going for carryon so this is good feedback.

I'm planning to go into REI the check them out but there isn't one near me so it will have to wait until I'm visiting family (in a bigger city) in a couple of weeks.

If it isn’t full, you can use it as a carryon as long as you put it in the overhead compartment. It will not fit under a seat even if it’s only half full or less. It’s a very, very big bag. But also has a short torso so if you’re over about 5’6” it won’t fit just right no matter how much you adjust it.
All that to say that ymmv. Some swear by it and others are like me. I’m glad you’ll get to try it out in person :) Have fun at REI!
