I have to wonder what fandoms people are in where you're running into scads of untagged trans characters. It's literally never happened to me with porn, the closest is one time when a character was just like "yeah so I'm trans, nbd" very briefly in a gen fic.

I'm.... not? I literally said it happened once. Then I got called transphobic for asking the author to tag. Then I was on a semi-related post on reddit about authors being dicks about reasonable requests, and related that story and was called transphobic again just for asking for a tag when the whole post was about people asking for tags.

It happens a LOT in my fandom. I don't think I've even seen a trans fic that isn't porn. It even has ABO fic where the male omega character will never have even had a dick, just vagina, but still be AMAB in-universe. It's bizarre.

I fucking hate the ABO male omega with female genitalia. It is rarely tagged and just suddenly bam! vaginal sex and I hate it. I stumbled upon one that wasnt even tagged ABO and it was all perfectly normal seeming until the sex scene. Haaate.

Genshin Impact as well. Like, even excluding any mentions of vaginal sex acts in the tags doesn't filter all of them out because some people in that fandom are so damn committed to making people read their trans fetish fic.
