What was so great about them back then, and what's so great about them now?

And how would "taking them up on" "whatever they were offering back then" (not promising language IMO) have made your life turn out better? For all you know, you might be regretting things the other way.

And I don't know about them, but I sure wouldn't be flattered if someone called me up 30 years later and said they were willing to hook up with me out of boredom and lack of fulfillment in their life. Look into something else to lift you out of your funk.

I'm OP. I should've stated that it wouldn't be to lift myself out of a funk. Wasn't looking for a hookup either.
