It just sounds as though if your life weren't "so disappointing," you wouldn't even think of looking up this person.

Maybe I have that wrong and you really didn't mean it that way, but that's how it comes off.

My life is disappointeing and I wouldn't want to be judged by that person if we have a conversation about my life.
I typed people's names from my past into a search engine and found them. He was one of them.
