The book version where he gets rabies and mauls his then ownr is worse.

IIRC it wasn't rabies, it was him coming into contact with primal forces. But agreed, the final panel is disturbing.

I still have the book this is based on! Oddly, not the most disturbing tale in the collection (a couple of tales were modified/switched out, and I think the private eye story got its own special).
