Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows)?
Lucy Liu (Elementary)?
Alan Cox (Young Sherlock Holmes)? Okay, yeah, more cute than hot, but still.
Seymour Hicks (Under the Clock)? Yes, it's an 1893 stage play, but dude was hot.
Derek Waring (Sherlock Holmes: The Musical)?
James Mason (Murder by Decree)?
Gareth David-Lloyd (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes)?
Himesh Patel (Enola Holmes 2)? Post-credits, still counts.
Peter Wingfield (Sanctuary)?
Takanori Iwata (Sherlock: Untold Stories)?
Morris Chestnut (Watson*)? *Forthcoming TV series

There have been a lot, these are just the ones I am aware of and thought were hot.

nayrt but I giggled because I always appreciated both the Grenada Watsons even if I didn't ship Holmes/Watson, per se. Recently I was rewatching some of the Grenada Sherlock Holmes episodes and appreciate Burke's chemistry with Jeremy Brett a lot, especially the humor. Haven't gotten to rewatching the Hardwick episodes yet.

Nope, not them or Patrick McNee or Bernard Fox (who I really like as an actor). They're fine, just not what I'd consider hot. Like I said, I just listed ones I thought were hot. To each their own, though.

I was all in agreement with the secret until I read your list. Peter Wingfield is hot no matter what! But I’ve never heard of Sanctuary and now must find it.

Oh that actually doesn’t sound like my kind of show at all, unfortunately. And based off the show summary and his character description, I wouldn’t consider him Watson at all. He’s actually supposed to be Holmes but even that doesn’t much matter to me because things like House and Sanctuary can be great and inspired by ACD but they’re not Sherlock Holmes.

No. Not hot. Most are not even Watsons. 1890s grainy pictures, what.

If you think they aren't hot, well that's your taste, but they are almost all Watsons (technically though Takanori Iwata plays Junichi Wakamiya in Sherlock: Untold Stories, the character is based on John Watson, it's just based in Tokyo). The part in the parentheses is the title of the play/movie/TV series they played Watson in. Yes, most of these aren't very strict adaptations, but you didn't specify that as a requirement.

You gave some shows to look for and for that I thank you. Some really obscure names.

I love the idea that you think no one in the 1800s was hot because the quality of the photographs is bad.

yeah, but how do I get into that? Where's the food, the source, the footage? Photos are really not enough.
