If you grew up in America and wanted to know about its history? Probably yes, your education wasn't great. I don't know Alt.Fan.Pratchett, but if it opened your eyes to a lot of things you didn't see before, then I say it deserves credit for that.

If you were educated in America, reading a bar coaster probably increased your education more than its public schools managed. Especially if they were in The South.
