I've been saying that binge watching has been killing fandom for years! I miss the week long (or longer for mid season breaks and summer breaks) excitement that would grow in the fandom spaces while waiting for the next episode. The little teaser of "next week on..." and all the theories that would pop up. Then when the show aired and debunked all those theories, AUs or new theories would pop up. It was just a fun slow evolving space. If you binge a show you don't really have time to sit and process each episode and write whole reels and discuss with other people. It's just not the same.

I don't miss mid season breaks, but summer breaks were tolerable as long as the show didn't end on a cliffhanger.

Cliffhangers made the best fandom fodder! But only if it was guaranteed the show was coming back.

DA - I love and miss summer hiatus. I actually loved summer hiatuses most when the season ended on a cliffhanger. The agony was so sweet, and the fever-pitch of fannish obsession in the wake of a season cliffhanger was a special experience. XD

I don't miss the other, shorter hiatuses though; those were the worst.

I don't 3ven like week to week cliffhangers, so I'm not a fan of most modern TV.
