Would you consider changing the IP logging settings so we can all see the IP address? There is no way to identify or locate the person on the other side of that address so it’s perfectly safe.

It will make it much easier to avoid the resident troll who’s hellbent on destroying the comm. I suspect it will also limit their activity because it seems like they same anon reply to make it look like they have support for their trolling and garbage takes.

I don't think that's a setting that's possible in Dreamwidth. If you suspect someone is replying to themselves or spamming repeatedly to the same comment though, if you ask about a thread I can check for you! Caveat being I can tell you as far as I know, since people can be using proxies or have multiple individuals at the same location, at which point it's sort of a judgement call.

Another option would be to have people only be able to comment logged in but I don't think anybody wants that.

Oh I didn’t know that! I thought they had a setting that allows it to display for everyone. I may take you up on the offer to check because a few of the nastiest threads did stink if same anonning. Thank you!
