This isn't TikTok. You don't need to censor algorithm-unfriendly words with asterisks or whatever else. If you're old enough to watch the show, you're old enough to engage with concepts and use their actual names.

Yeah. It's so weird to me when people do this outside of TikTok or places where there's an actual, legit reason to disguise the word. It feels like a strange variety of prudishness, even if people don't mean it that way.

some of us don't like to sully our voices with the name of that scum

FFS.

Saying a word, especially with context, does not "sully your voice".

Censoring 'distasteful' words under the guise of "not sullying your voice", however... well, crack a history book and see how that generally turns out.

Imgur will take it down if their AI detects it.

(Anonymous) 2024-07-30 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Is that why all the broken links lately?

(Anonymous) 2024-07-30 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably for a lot of them. If you have an account with them you can dispute and have a human review the image but if they’re posted without an account they’ll just disappear if the AI flags something real or imagined.

I stopped watching after the first season and I’ll be honest, a lot of it had to do with Deep. I’m fine with human gore and human victims, etc but the animal stuff made me sick.

(Anonymous) 2024-07-30 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Good call, it only got worse from there.

My husband still watches (at least through season 3, not sure if he watched 4) and when I mentioned maybe giving the show another try for season 2 he was like “Nooooooooooo!” LOL He said it was far worse for stuff that bothers me and that 3 topped that. I’ve never been squeamish before but apparently bestiality and animal abuse are my triggers *shrug*

Deep IS really bad. I'd put him on a par with Homelander, though he's Homelander's bitch, so hey.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong because I might have forgotten, but there's no reason given for The Deep being so shitty. Homelander is messed up because of the childhood experiments and stuff, but The Deep is trash just because?

So what does he do to the fish?
