J/K - don't worry, I never take such things seriously. Sulu and Chekov in TOS have some epic bromance thing going on though. We just haven't seen enough of that reboot pair to determine whether they will have the same relationship their prime selves had...

I don't see it, either, and don't care if someone else does. Is not shipping it really a secret unless you're some high-profile Sulu/Chekov fan author who's only writing it for the e-fame?

Every pairing is shipped by someone. That doesn't mean that the two characters also "can't just be friends" in numerous imaginations at the same time, though.

Lots of guys can just be friends. Chekov and Sulu are just friends in your fanon. In my fanon, Chekov and Kirk are just friends. Kirk and Spock are just friends. There are plenty of friendships in slash shipping, but the focus is going to be on one relationship (friendship, hatred, brief eye contact) developing into something more.

I don't either. I tried but they didn't click in my head like a couple. I just see them as really awesome BFF's.

Mostly though, it's just that I can't seem to shop Chekov with, well, anyone. :/
