Tbf, most so-called communist governments weren't exactly following communism. And the ones that tried to be the real thing were corrupted or destroyed by capitalist regimes (cough, cough, America, cough). Still, WWII was worth fighting, especially if you weren't white or a shade of white, male, and Christian.

That's because communism in its purest form CAN NOT work as long as even one person still has free will. It just can't. It's a nice enough ideology in theory but that's it, it's just possible in theory only. "Real" Communism can and will never work. Every time it's tried, it crashes into a dicatorship because free will is the anthithesis to communism in the way it's dreamt up.
(And before anyone starts, yes, all-out capitalism sucks as well.)
