I know what you mean. I've been in a fandom for nearly 8 years, it's on its last legs, and I know it's time to move on. But I love it, gods damn it!

AYRT - Really sad thing is, this one was only really active for four or five years. The fandom grew a lot during quarantine, so I suspect it was a quarantine/low social activity hobby for a lot of folks, and once the world went back to normal, that was it.

Have discussions and fanfics (I can't write for shit so do it yourself isn't working), fanart and edits. I want to squee with fellow fans. You need people for this. Liking something isn't the same as being in fandom

This. And sometimes you have folks there but they aren't on the level you'd like them to be (you're into fanfic but they only want to have canon event discussions, they only want to talk ships when you want to talk lore, or it's a fandom with a long history but the bulk of it is fans of the newest installment and you wish you could interact with someone who's been there the whole time. For the record, there's nothing wrong with any of that, and some might say I should "just be happy" with whatever I get, but sometimes you just really want certain connections with other fans, and it's rare.)
