I don't understand B. Is tumblr+AO3 not fandom now?

AYRT - Of course, but I was talking about Dreamwidth. What I'm saying is that it gets confusing when you do fandom friending memes hosting on DW, but then none of your friends seem to be into fandoms, and sometimes it's that all of their fandom stuff happens elsewhere.

Yeah I've seen this often on Dreamwidth. I just made a new account and I was going around to the addme/friending memes to see what was out there and so many of the default "fill this out and post" include fandom questions, because that's really the base that DW was created for back in the day, but now it's used by a variety of folk. I wonder if that's happening elsewhere, the friending memes were created with fandom crowds in mind but now people are just out there looking for friends and find the memes and just fill them out as is.

Yeah, but even so the fannish people usually have an icon or a Dear Author post or something indicating a fandom. I've never come across a completely fandom-free DW for someone who mostly fans elsewhere.

Yeah, but someone who is in fandom on Tumblr/AO3 isn't gonna be like, "I don't understand why anyone is in fandom."
