I mean as long as the person eating it doesn't mind dry, flavorless steak... Me, it's medium rare or rarer every time.

Well, there are those who fear food poisoning or intestinal parasites, and cooking the shit out of the meat helps prevent that, so I can understand. I can't speak to whether or not they enjoy the flavor, though.

I once ordered a medium rare and got a blue rare steak. Seared on the outside and raw and cold on the inside. I was so iron deficient that day that I didn't give a fuck; it was a sizeable hunk of meat so I ate half of it and took the rest home. When I reheated it the next day, it was still a little bit pink and juicy!
